Pasi Tuominen - In Brief

Pasi Tuominen is a Finnish freelance journalist and a member of the International Federation of
Journalists and the Union of Journalists in Finland. He is currently living and working in Washington,
D.C.
After three years of freelance writing for traditional and online media alike, Mr Tuominen switched to full-time
journalism in 2008. Prior to autumn 2008, he worked for several years for the
Central Chamber of Commerce in
Finland as well as for the Embassy of Japan in Helsinki, Finland.

Mr Tuominen has worked as an
NHL Correspondent for Iltalehti - Finland's third largest newspaper - from April
2008. From the 2010 Playoffs, Mr Tuominen has covered the NHL also for
MTV3.fi, the online magazine of
Finland's most popular TV channel.

Earlier work includes
copywriting for Sanoma Entertainment (subsidiary of Finland's biggest media house
SanomaWSOY) as well as sports journalism (tennis, winter sports, soccer) for
United Magazines Ltd.

In 2006, Mr Tuominen founded
Blues-Finland.com, which has since become one of the most active blues music
magazines anywhere on the Internet. He continues as the editor of the magazine.

Mr Tuominen has completed Master's Degrees in Britain (
University of Westminster, London) and Finland
(
University of Jyvaskyla). He is also a Commercial College Graduate.

Sports, music, cinema, theatre and social issues are, among others, Mr Tuominen's areas of interest.
